As
promised last week, we are bringing you the latest news from the world of
upholstery as seen at the Las Vegas Market last January. The very first market
of the year showcased the latest products and collections in a variety of
colours and tones with Marsala (Pantone’s colour of the year 2015) at the
center of the colour wheel. 
From menswear inspired upholstery (don’t count on this look for Canada) to subdued looks in neutral and pastel colours to quieter shades beautifully complementing Marsala, contemporary and classic upholstery looks delivered configuration options and comfort. Retro looking bench back sofas, with exposed tapered wood legs driven by consumer’s desire for clean and ‘zen’ looking living areas, were dominant in leading upholstery manufacturers’ showrooms.
Colours ranged from muted to bold. Sofas and sectionals tended to be more on the natural side of the colour palette while the accent chairs would feature bright and playful patterns and prints.
